One of the main interests outside her home of Mrs. Margaret Grace McKellar Stewart, whose death occurred on Friday after a short illness, was the education of women in public affairs. A graduate of the University of Melbourne, and wife of Professor McKellar Stewart, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Adelaide, she was for some time a president of the University Wives' Club.

Mrs. McKellar Stewart was instrumental in establishing the Blackwood branch of the Women's Non-Party Association, later merged into the SA League of Women voters, of which she was appointed president last year.
