Malinda Grace Roach (1862–1931)

Mrs. M. [Malinda Grace] Roach, a well-known Labor identify of Newtown, who died as a result of injuries received in a collision between a motor bus and a tram on Friday last, was buried at Rookwood Cemetery on Monday.

Mrs Roach had been associated with the Labor Movement for 30 years. She had also been connected with the Citizens Aid Society, the Newtown Welfare Society and the Sunshine Club.

The funeral was attended by about 300. Among those present were Messrs. E. and E. C. Riley, Ms.H.R. Ald. Bugler (Mayor of Newtown) Miss M. Bugler, Ald. Solomon and Mr M. T. Rowley, president Newtown Ambulance.
