Born in 1860 at Wangaratta, Victoria, Mr. C. V. Reid, who died in Sydney last month, was educated at Brighton College, England. He then went to his father's—the late John Reid—station, Tabratong, near Nevertire, N.S.W. He married the third daughter of the late Hon. Robert Dyce Reid, for many years member for Toorak, Vic. Later he went for a two-years ' trip to England, and on his return managed properties for the A.M.A. Company and the Learmonth Estate, and also purchased Abbotsford Station in the Western Division of New South Wales.

In 1919 Mr. Reid retired from pastoral life, and the following year went to England and the Continent. On his return in 1921 he purchased a home in Rose Bay, Sydney, where his death took place on 1st December.

He leaves a widow and two daughters—Mrs. J. L. Wilkinson, of Aston, Bombala, N.S.W., and Miss Nancy Reid.
