Basil Purbrick (1882–1938)

There was a large and representative gathering at the funeral yesterday of Mr. Basil Purbrick, who died on Thursday last as the result of an accident. Mr. Purbrick was a well-known representative of the Arm of Davis, Lancaster, and Co., produce merchants, Melbourne. The cortege left Sleight's chapel, St. Kilda road, after a service conducted by Canon F. E. C. Crotty, who also officiated at the Springvale Crematorium Chapel.

The chief mourners were Mr. William I. Purbrick (son), and Messrs. Norman, Guy, W., and F. Purbrick (brothers). The pallbearers were Messrs. H. J. Urwin, B. King, J. Vincent. E. Burnett, W. R. Corney, and C. O'Brien. Many wreaths were conveyed by the hearse and floral car.
