William Pillans (1890–1952)

Mr. William Pillans, a former headmaster of the Gosford High School, died at his home at South Strathfield on Tuesday.

He was headmaster at the school in 1941 and 1942, and succeeded Mr. H. G. Stoyles.

Mr. Pillans was headmaster of Sydney Technical High at the time of his death.

Mr. Pillans graduated in Arts and Science, with emphasis on mathematics, from the Sydney University. His organising work at the school was held in high regard.

Mr. Pillans took a keen interest in the affairs of the Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, a son Robert, and a daughter, Anne (Mrs. A. Callaghan).
