Mrs. Elizabeth Mary McCormack, of Barbara Street Fairfield, died in hospital last week.
Mrs. McCormack was aged 72.
Fairfield Council last week held a minutes silence as a tribute to her.
Mrs McCormack was prominent in many organisations throughout the Fairfield area.
She was an extremely active member of Fairfield branch of the A.L.P. for nine years.
She represented the branch repeatedly as a delegate to the women's conference, and worked at the tables every election. She was previously a member of the Fairfield Hospital Board.
Requiem Mass was held at "Our Lady of the Rosary" Catholic Church, Fairfield, and the funeral took place in the Catholic portion of Rookwood Cemetery.
