Richard Francis (Dick) O'Donnell (1872–1934)

There was an addition to the fairly long death roll of union officials for 1934 on December 21. This was caused by the death of Mr. Richard F. O'Donnell, which occurred at his late residence, Glen Iris. He was a member of the Furnishing Trades Union for more than forty years. He was a trusted official for about twenty years. Although ill health compelled him to relinquish his official duties some time back, his end came somewhat suddenly.

Mr. O'Donnell did good work for the workers of the Furnishing Trades Wages Board, and consistently stood for the principles of the Australian Labor Party.

After a requiem service at St. Roch's R.C. Church, Glen Iris, Mr. O'Donnell was buried at the Burwood Cemetery on December 22.

Mr. O'Donnell is survived by a widow, three sons and three daughters.
