George Wallie Nunn (1898–1966)

The death of Mr. George [Wallie] Nunn on 30th March, 1966, is recorded with regret.

Mr. Nunn retired from the Western Australian Forests Department in 1963 following an active and varied career.

He graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon, and saw service in India in 1921–22 before qualifying as a licensed surveyor. He graduated in his third profession in 1927 when he obtained the Diploma of Forestry from Canberra. Following this Mr. Nunn entered the Western Australian Forests Department and by the time of his retirement had risen to the position of Superintendent of Management and Plantations.

He attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel while serving with the 2nd A.I.F. from 1940 to 1944. During 1946–47 he worked with U.N.R.R.A. in China. We extend our sincere sympathy to his family.
