The funeral of Mr. Randolph H. [Herbert] Nott, of the firm of R. H. Nott and Sons, took place on Thursday, at the Northern Suburbs Cemetery. The late Mr. Nott was 68 years of age and was the son of the late Mr. Randolph Nott, of Strathfield and Bowral. Mr. R. H. Nott married, in 1880, Miss Edith Ross, granddaughter of the late Mr. David Jones, founder of the firm of David Jones, Limited, and niece of the late Sir Phillip Sydney Jones. Mr. Nott was for 20 years manager of the Manchester Fire Insurance Company. The principal mourners were Messrs. Allan Nott, Keith Nott, Roy Nott, and David Nott (sons),Trevor Giblin (son-in-law), P. Sydney Nott, J. E. V. Nott, A. E. Nott (brothers), Ross Nott, Charles Nott, Griffith Nott, F. M. Ross, and L. Hogarth (nephews). Mr. Ross Nott also represented Mr. Arthur Nott, another brother of the late Mr. Nott, who is at present in London. Among others present at the funeral were the Rev. Canon Ross Edwards, the Rev. R. H. Waugh, and Messrs. Harold Thompson, Fred Parsons, Leonard Keep, C. L. Boyce, H. S. Wright, D. J. Locke, H. G. Davey, R. C. Henderson, Harry Ruhfus, H. Giles, Parker, C. C. Moore, E. W. Kingston, H. E. Farmer, T. Gray, W. H. S. Pearce, E. Pike, C. M. Barker, R. Cowdery, Morgan, C. R. Mitchell, L. Robinson, H. Hogarth, and F. Booty. Prior to the funeral a short service was conducted at Mr. Nott's late residence, Corringa, Kurraba-road, Neutral Bay, by the Revs. Walter Mathieson and George Littlemore. Mr. Mathieson officiated at the graveside.
