Frederick James Niven (1866–1938)

The death occurred at his home in Kooyong road, Caulfield (V.), on Monday of Mr. Frederick James Niven, only surviving son of the late Mr. F. W. Niven, of Balilarat and Melbourne, and the late Mrs. Niven. He was aged 72 years. Mr. Niven was born in Ballarat, and as a young man joined the staff of the local branch of the Bank of Victoria. He remained there until he was aged 26 years, when he was transferred to Nhill, and from there to other branches of the bank. After 50 years' service in the bank Mr. Niven retired eight and a half years ago, when he was manager of the head office in Collins street. He has left a widow, two sons (one in England), and a daughter.
