Samuel Israel Myers (1833–1901)

Mr. Samuel I. Myers, of 'Westw00d,' Glebe Point, died somewhat suddenly at St. Kilda private hospital on the 5th inst., where he had been removed for the purpose of an operation being performed, but was found too weak. The late Mr. Myers was the eldest son of the late Mr. Israel Myers, one of the oldest and most respected Jewish citizens. General regret has been expressed at Mr. Myers' decease, he being much respected for his probity and social virtues. He leaves a widow and a large family to mourn their loss. The funeral was largely attended on Sunday last, and the Rev. P. Philippstein spoke in highly eulogistic terms of the virtues of the deceased. 'May his soul rest in peace.'
