Clarissa Murray (1841–1933)

The death occurred yesterday of Mrs. Clarissa Murray, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. David Cocker, Erina-street, Launceston. Mrs. Murray, who was in her 93rd year, was the widow of the late Mr. Edward Kennedy Murray, of "Northcotte," St. Leonards. She was born in Launceston, and was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. Charles Littler, of Essex, England. The late Mr. Harry Littler, of Launceston, was a brother, and the only surviving sister is Mrs. Ann F. Harrison, widow of the late Mr. Wiliam Harrison, of Underwood. There are two sons and six daughters:-Mr. Charles Murray (W.A.), Lieut.-Colonel H. W. Murray, V.C., C.M.G., D.S.O. one bar. D.C.M., C. de G. (Queensland), Mrs. Gray (W.A.), Mrs. David Cocker (Launceston), Mrs. Joshua Cocker (Northberry, Lower Barrington), Miss J. Murray (Lower Barrington), Mrs. Adams (Launceston), and Miss Nellie Murray (Queensland). The funeral will take place to Carr Villa Cemetery to-morrow afternoon.
