Tim death occurred at his residence, 106 Ocean Street, Narrabeen, on Monday last of the Rev. William Carlyle Moulton, formerly Presbyterian minister at Narandera for a period of 16 years.
The Rev. Moulton was 82 years of age. While stationed in Narandera he earned the respect of all sections of the community. He was a minister of the church for 50 years, and in his early years did pioneering work in Western Australia. Those were days long before the motor car was brought into use, and transport was either by bicycle or horse-drawn vehicle. He also served for several years in Fiji. Most of his life as a minister was spent in the country districts, prior to coming to Narandera he was located for many years at Urana, where he be came acquainted with many of the residents of this district. From Urana he was present at the induction of the Rev. (now Dr.) G. K. S. Reid as pastor in the Narandera charge.
In January, 1940, the Rev. Moulton left Narandera for the purpose of entering into retirement in Sydney, but on his son, the Rev. Lyle Moulton, who was minister of the Mullumbimbi by charge, enlisting for service with the military forces, he took ever the charge until his son re turned.
Deceased is survived by his widow and a family of two sons and one daughter. The sons are Mr. Ken Moulton and the Rev. Lyle Moulton, and the daughter is Jean. A daughter (Enid, Mrs. D. Fraser) predeceased him.
The funeral took place on Wednesday, the cortege leaving the Presbyterian Church, Raglan Street, Manly, for the Northern Suburbs Crematorium.
