Alfred Allen Moore, a well-known figure in the Balonne district, Queensland, died unexpectedly in the St. George Hospital on 21st June last from influenza. He was born at Goodooga, N.S.W., in 1881, and educated at St. Joseph's College, Hunter's Hill, Sydney. He was the third son of the late W. R. Moore, of Mogila Station, a well-known pioneer.
In 1907 the late A. A. Moore, in partnership with an elder brother Charles, acquired Bonathorne, Dirranbandi, and later selected Dongon Plains, owning both properties at his death. He was a very keen member of the Balonne Shire Council, and took an active part in the hospital affairs.
He leaves a wife and infant son, having married Miss Cusack, of Innisfail, Marengo, in 1917, and is survived by five sisters and four brothers. Of the latter, William, Charles, and Thomas are resident in North Queensland, and the youngest, Jack, is returning from France, where he has had three and a-half years' active service.
