Alan Moritz Michaelis (1899–1953)

Mr. Alan Michaelis, Melbourne business man and committee member of the Melbourne Racing Club, collapsed in the Victorian Club yesterday and died soon afterwards.

Mr. Michaelis, who was 54, was a cousin of Sir Archie Michaelis, former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

He was a board member of Associated Leathers Ltd.; Michaelis, Hallenstein, and Co. Pty. Ltd.; and Geo. Kinnear and Sons Pty. Ltd.

Mr. Michaelis was elected to the committee of the M.R.C. last year. He was a member of the three other Melbourne racing clubs.

He leaves a widow and two daughters.
