Mr Albert McNolty, "the grand old man of the Victorian Labor and trade union movement", died last night. He was 75.
Mr McNolty had a long and colourful career. He was a former president and treasurer of the Victorian ALP, a delegate to ALP Federal conferences and president of the Trades Hall Council.
He was a member of the Trades Hall Council executive for 21 years, president of the Victorian Metal Trades Federation of Unions and State and Federal secretary of the Sheet Metal Workers Union.
