There passed away at Brisbane, Queensland, on 7th October, a well-known and highly esteemed business man, Mr. D. W. McLeod. As senior partner in the firm of Fenwick and Co., stock and station agents, he was a familiar figure in pastoral circles, and took an active part in promoting the Brisbane wool sales. During the many years he was associated with the firm he devoted himself strenuously to the interests of those clients whose business claimed his attention, and always succeeded in retaining their confidence. Fair in all his dealings, and with a high conception of the ethics of commercial life, he was ever a power for good in the business world of Brisbane, and his somewhat sudden death will be deeply regretted by all with whom he came in contact. Deeply interested in everything that contributed to the development and expansion of the resources of Queensland, he was identified with many mining ventures, and at the time of his death was chairman of McLeod's New Wilmot Mining Company. Mr. McLeod was born in Scotland and came out to Queensland with his parents about fifty years ago. He leaves a widow, two sons and four daughters.
