
Scotsmen in Melbourne and many friends in sorting and club circles will regret the death of Mr. Angnew Andrew McCrea, which occurred yesterday at his home in Stanhope grove, Camberwell. Mr McCrae was aged 73 years. He was managing director of the Waratah (Gippsland) Lime and Cement Co., and former director of the Economic Insurance Co. and General Accident Insurance Co. He was born in Wigtownshire, Scotland, in 1856 and came to Australia when aged 28 years. After serving with the Victoria Lime and Cement Co., he purchased the business of Wischer and Walker in 1895, and founded the Waratah Co. He was a member of the Athenaeum Club and Commercial Travellers' Club and for three years had been president of the West Brighton Club. Mr McCrea was a foundation member of the Melbourne Scots.
