Ursula Lillie MacCallum (?–1941)

Mrs Ursula Lillie MacCallum, wife of Professor Peter Maccallum, Professor of Pathology at the University of Melbourne, died yesterday at her home, Stanhope Court, Toorak Rd, South Yarra. Mrs MacCallum, who had been ill for the last 2 years, had formerly taken a great interest in activities of the University, and until her health forbade it had been generous in her entertainment of members of various groups and leaders of sections of students. She was for many years president of the Melbourne University Women’s Swimming Club, and a cup bearing her name is presented for competition annually by the club.

Mrs MacCallum, who leaves one son, Peter, and 3 stepdaughters, was born in New Zealand. She was a daughter of the late Venerable Archdeacon T. Grace of Marlborough (NZ). Among her 8 brothers and sisters are Col. H. G. Grace, formerly of the Frontier Forces, India, and now Gentleman at Arms to the King; and Sister Eudora, principal of St Michael's Church of England Girls' Grammar School, Melbourne. The funeral will take place today privately at Lilydale Cemetery at 4 pm. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church, South Yarra, at 2.30 pm. A. A. Sleight Pty Ltd have charge of funeral arrangements.
