Joseph John Lyons (1873–1949)

At the age of 75 years, well-known ex-Councillor and Builder, Mr. Joseph John Lyons passed away early on Saturday morning at the Hutchinson Hospital, Gawler.

As a ratepayers' representative he held Council office in 1933 (North Ward), 1934 (Evanston Ward) and from 1939 to 1943 (Gawler South Ward). Greatly interested in politics he was an active member of the Gawler A.L.P. branch.

There survive two daughters Estella (Mrs. O'Halloran), Catherine (Mrs. Lee) and son Doug.

Rev. Father Sparkes officiated at the graveside at Willston cemetery on Sunday afternoon.
