from Labor Call
The news of the death of Francis Lyons will be received in the Labor world with deep regret. Frank was indeed an old pioneer, having marched in the first Eight Hours Procession, and has been connected with the movement ever since, and up to the time of his death was the trusted treasurer of the Eight Hours Committee. Frank Lyons was also a foundation member of the Implement Makers' Union in 1870. He was, at the time of his death, president, and treasurer of the said union. The unfortunate part of the sad event is that the dead comrade leaves an aged widow, who is also laid up with a severe illness. Truly, the brothers are passing away all too quickly and blow upon blow in the shape of losses through death have been dealt to the Labor movement during the last few years. The flag at the Trades Hall, on Tuesday, was flown half-mast.
