Adam Gordon Laidlaw (?–1918)

Mr. Adam Gordon Laidlaw, owner of Wootong Vale Station, near Coleraine, Victoria, died suddenly in Melbourne on the 1st inst.

Mr. Laidlaw was born at Mundarra, and was a son of the late Mr. Walter Laidlaw, of Melville Forest, and other station properties in Victoria, and was educated at Hamilton College. The Laidlaw family have been connected with pastoral affairs from the earliest period of the industry. Of late years deceased had given up the active management of his properties and travelled a good deal. He was a bachelor, and was noted for his generosity and large-hearted donations to charity and patriotic funds. He was a great favourite, and his death has been received with widespread regret and sympathy. He was buried in the Brighton Cemetery, near Melbourne.
