John Hodge King (1872–1943)

The death occurred in Sydney hospital on Friday last of a well-known and respected citizen of Lithgow, Mr. John Hodge King, of Atkinson-street, Mort's Estate, at the age of 70.

He was a native of Scotland, coming to Australia 18 years ago and making his home in Lithgow, where he resided until entering hospital 12 weeks ago.

He is survived by a widow (Mrs. Euphemia King), four sons and two daughters, William, Thomas, John, James (Lithgow), Mrs. Hunter (Corney Town), Mrs. Worsley (Crow's Nest), one sister (Mrs. Stevenson (Cessnock) and two brothers, Joseph and William (Scotland).

Cremation took place at Northern Suburbs Crematorium on Sunday.
