The death of Mr. Samuel A. Kenny, which took place at his residence, Granville, yesterday, will he regretted by a wide circle. Mr. Kenny, who was only 43 years of age, had done excellent work as a public school teacher. He started as a pupil teacher at Five Dock in 1892; from 1904 to 1906 he was assistant teacher at Milltown, near Bathurst, and for 12 months from 1906 he held a similar position at Burwood. He was a lover of music, and for several years he was employed as lecturer and teacher of singing and voice production at the Training College at Blackfriars. He held that position, and also secretary of the Public Service School Teachers' Association at the time of his illness, which commenced about two months ago. The funeral, which took place at Rookwood to-day, was largely attended.
Mr. Kenny left a widow and family.
