The news that Mr. Patrick William Kenna had met his death in an incident while working on the Warragamba dam construction work, on Thursday of last week, was received with deep regret by his many friends in Mittagong. He had resided there for some time and first lived there in 1914. As organiser for the Australian Workers' Union, Mr. Kenna came in contact with many of the residents of the district and was held in high regard by all. He always took a keen interest in the problems of members of the union, and his helpful advice was often availed of.
Born at Gunnedah. N.S.W., Mr. Kcnna spent his early life in Queensland. He had been in the employ of the Metropolitan Water Board for seven years, first at Nepean Dam and later at Warragamba.
Requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. Monsignor Giles in St. Michael's Church, Mittagong, where Mr. Kenna was married in 1928 to Helena Mary, a member of the well-known Carlon family. The funeral look place in the Catholic section of Fitzroy cemetery.
We extend our sympathy to the widow, one son (Patrick), and one daughter (Josephine), who survive. The second son (Anthony) pre-deceased his father six years ago.
