Another pioneer of the industrial movement in Broken Hill, Mr. Harry Ivey, died yesterday at North Bridge, Sydney, where he has lived for several years following his departure from Broken Hill.

Mr. Ivey was twice mayor of this city, and was always in the forefront of local industrial movements. His brother, Mr. Thomas Ivey, lives at Railway Town.

Mr. Harry Ivey was particularly active here in 1909, and when mayor, led one momentous street procession organised by Labor. He was here in the early days, and was president of the F.E.D. and F.A. back as far as 1889-1890. Although away from here he retained his membership of the union. He is number one on the books, and was at one time secretary.

Union officials heard from Mr. Ivey about every six months when he forwarded his contributions with the comment that he was still out of work. This caused much amusement because members realised that Mr. Ivey had long since passed the working stage.

Mrs. James Davies, of 161 Pell-street, is a daughter.
