John Maguire Iles (1864–1934)

The death occurred in England recently of Mr. John M. Iles, a well-known Australian mining engineer. Mr. Iles came to Western Australia from Tasmania in the nineties, and after having been in charge of several Murchison mines was for some years general manager of the South Kalgurli. Later, he went into partnership with Mr. Allan Davidson, another well-known mining engineer, and engaged in mining operations in Chile, North America and Nigeria. Mr. Davidson died in London a couple of years ago.
