Thomas James (Tom) Holt (1886–1945)

Mr. Thomas James Holt, who died yesterday at the age of 59 years, was the father of Mr. Harold Holt, M.P., and of Flying-Officer Cliff Holt. For many years he was well known in the theatrical and radio world. At one stage he managed the Tivoli Theatre, Sydney, and another notable event in his association with the stage was the management of Miss Ada Reeve's famous appearance in the revue Spangles. He was business manager at Her Majesty's for J.C.W. during the Williamson-Melba grand opera season. Subsequently he was associated with the late Mr. F. Thring in moving picture production, and later he managed 3XY Radio Company, but retired on account of failing health several years ago. Mr. Holt was twice married. To-day at 10.30 a service will be held at Sleight's chapel, and cremation at Spring Vale will follow.
