Sydney Samuel Hollier (1882–1950)

Mr. Sydney Hollier passed away very suddenly at his residence, Marsden Street, Shortland, Newcastle, on May 28.

The late Mr. Hollier was born in Penrith 68 years ago, and was the youngest son of Samuel and Charlotte Hollier and brother of Clarrie (deceased), Oscar (deceased), Winnie (Mrs. Freeburn, Ourimbah), Alf. (deceased) and Ida (Mrs. O'Gorman).

He leaves a widow and five sons and one daughter – Syd. (Shortland), Bert (Waratah), Clarrie (Pat, Sussex Inlet), Claude (Shortland), Dave (Shortland, and Jean (Mrs. Chapman, Yagoona).

Mr. Hollier resided in Penrith till 1926, when he moved to Bankstown, where he lived till his retirement from the railway service in 1946. He then moved to Shortland.
