Mr. Hermann August Herbst, a highly respected resident of the Logan and Albert districts, died at his residence, Ayton, near Beenleigh, last Tuesday morning, after an illness of some weeks. Among his horses were Bivouack, Sir William, Montana, and Stuart Carrington, which held a track record on the Sandgate course. He also was well known on the unregistered courses. He is survived by his widow, four sons, six daughters, and three grandchildren.
