F. R. Fairfax (?–1941)

Mr. F. R. Fairfax, of Fairfax and Co., died at his home in East St. Kilda on Wednesday. Before coming to Melbourne he was connected with the firm of Lassetter's, Sydney, for 22 years. He was well known among hardware merchants in the city, and took a keen interest in sport, especially cricket. He was a member of the M.C.C. and Commercial Travellers' clubs. Mr. Fairfax was cremated at Springvale on Thursday. The service at the chapel was conducted by Rev. Dr. Boreham, who was one of his cricketing companions. Funeral arrangements were by A. A. Sleight Pty. Ltd.
