Albert William Deane (1897–1982)

Albert W. Deane, the former manager of the department of censorship and editing of the Paramount Pictures Corporation, died last Thursday at a retirement home in Maplewood, N.J., to which he had moved last year from New Rochelle, N.Y. He was 85 years old.

Mr. Deane was also editor of "Paramount World," a house organ. He joined Paramount in 1919 in Sydney, Australia, where he was born, and was later Paramount's advertising manager there. He joined Paramount's New York offices in 1926, and retired in 1967.

He is survived by his wife, Dorthea; a daughter, Julie Evans of West Caldwell, N.J.; a son, Donald R. of Inglewood, Calif.; a sister, Leona Geeves of Sydney, and two grandchildren.
