Alexander Wilhelm Büttner (1837–1914)

Dr. Alexander Buttner died yesterday, at his residence, 439 Victoria-parade, East Melbourne, in his 77th year, after three months' illness. Dr. Buttner was born on his parents' estate at Porta, near Minden, Germany; and was educated at Bremerhaven. He studied medicine at Berlin and various other places, and commenced medical practice in Melbourne in 1878. He leaves a widow and grown up family of four sons and two daughters.
