Doug [Douglas] Brodie passed away on February the fourteenth, 1970, and we lost a personality, a sportsman and a forester.
Those of us that knew him have our own personal memories that will refresh us in future years but his passing demands a few written words.
“Banger” or “Grogan”, as we knew him, was a man who couldn’t stay mad at anyone for more than ten seconds at a time, who could drink with the best of us and consume a cigar at a single puff. He could put a ball over the crossbars from half way but drop it on the line. He was the only person who could trip over something that wasn’t in his way. A hard and honest worker who won the respect of all who came in contact with that ever-present grin.
Doug is remembered as a good mate and a man.
