The announcement which we publish to-day of the death of Mrs Emily Martha Bowen, of Glenelg, will be read with regret by a very large circle of friends. She was the youngest daughter of the late Hon. Walter Duffield, of Para Para, Gawler, and had only survived her mother, whose death we recently recorded, by a few weeks. Last week Mrs. Bowen caught a severe cold, which speedily developed into pneumonia, and she died on Wednesday night after just seven days' illness. Her death will cause deep sorrow not only among a large number of relatives and personal friends, by whom she was much beloved, but in a much wider area. As a regular visitor at the Hospital and to discharged inmates of that institution who were receiving aid from the Samaritan Fund, as well as to the poor of Glenelg and neighbourhood, she did a great deal of good in a very quiet and efficient way, and her death will be a matter of the greatest regret to those who have experienced her sympathy and kindness. It is announced that the funeral will leave St. Peter's Church, Glenelg, at 3.15 p.m. to-day for the Brighton Cemetery.
