Robert Bailey, n.d.

from Pastoral Review, 16 August 1918

Two months ago at the homestead ''Louden Brae,'' the death occurred of Mr. Robert Bailey at the age of 76, one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of the Belalie district, South Australia. Mr. Bailey was born at Chard, Somersetshire, England, in 1842, and was the eldest son of the late John Bailey, of that place. He took a deep interest in pastoral and agricultural pursuits, and as well as "Louden Brae," owned Whydon Station, in the Paratoo district.

In 1875 he married Marion Patterson, daughter of the late Mr. Robert Patterson, who predeceased him fourteen years ago. Six sons and four daughters are left, two of the former serving with the A.I.F. in France.
