Vera Auld (1896–1961)

The death occurred recently of Vera Auld, who was well known in Penrith when living here in the early days of her marriage.

From Penrith, the late Mrs. Auld and her husband, William, went to the Camden district, their address at the time of her death, August 18, being 95 Wilkinson Street, Elderslie.

Born at Holbrook 64 years ago, Mrs. Auld (then Miss Hore) came to the Penrith district with her parents in 1910, first to "Winbourne", Mulgoa, and later to "Ravenswood", Wallacia. One of her sisters. Elsie (Mrs. W. Morehead) still resides in the district, at Luddenham, and one of her brothers, Percy, lives in Penrith.

Others in the family are Minnie (Mrs. Hore, Auburn), Bert (New Zealand), Mrs. Hiney (Kempsey), Harold (Queensland), and Dulcie (Mrs. Waugh, New Zealand). A brother, Reg, and sister, Florence, predeceased her.

The late Mrs. Auld is survived by her husband and five children, Raymond, Harold, Colin, Donald, and Beryl (Mrs. L. English), all of Camden. There are seven grandchildren.

The well-attended funeral at Narellan on August 19 was conducted by Bishop Wilton. A number of Wallacia and Luddenham residents were present.
