Lieutenant Gordon Beresford Alford, son of Mr. C. P. Alford, chief inspector of the Bank of New South Wales, has died in the Empire Hospital, Westminster, from wounds received in France. He was accountant in the Goulburn branch of the Bank of New South Wales. Lieut. Alford was very popular in Goulburn. He took an interest in church work. At entertainments in aid of church objects he was in request as an amateur conjuror. He was 31 years of age.
