Duckett White (1847–1913)

The death took place yesterday morning of Mr. Duckett White, J.P., in his 66th year. Deceased was a native of Newcross, Ireland, but came to this State when very young with his father and the rest of the family. Deceased followed pastoral pursuits and was at one time manager of the Ramdonie meat works for Mr. C. G. Tindal. He was subsequently manager of Nymboida Station for the Bank of New South Wales. For a number of years Mr. White took an active interest in sport, principally the turf. After leaving Nymboida he resided for some time at Yamba, afterwards removing to South Grafton. He was married to the second eldest daughter of the late Mr. T. Bawden, who survives him. He was well-known to the old residents of the Clarence, more especially to those engaged in grazing and commercial pursuits. The funeral took place yesterday, the remains being interred in the Church of England portion of the Grafton cemetery, Rev. C. J. Armstrong, of South Grafton, conducting the burial service.
