The late Mr. William F. Turnbull, of Boronga Station, in the Moree district, New South Wales, died on the 31st May, 1916, at the age of 84 years. He was born in South Africa, went to the Goondiwindi district of Queensland when 15 years old, and was engaged in the pastoral industry from that time up to the time of his death, having lived at Boronga for 50 years. He managed that station for Messrs. Wyndham Bros., afterwards for Miss Eadith Walker, of Sydney, for many years, and then for Messrs. Doyle Bros'. For the last few years, and at the time of his death, he was sole owner of Boronga.
Mr. Turnbull was one of the very oldest pioneers of the Goondiwindi and Moree districts. He was termed by everybody who knew him as a grand old man, well liked and respected by all.
The late Mr. Turnbull had a family of five sons and five daughters. One of the sons is now in England with the A.I.F. One son, two daughters, and his wife predeceased him.
