Samuel Terry (1776–1838)

from Sydney Gazette

Mr. Samuel Terry, the Rothschild of New South Wales, died on Thursday morning last, at his residence, Pitt-street. The funeral will take place to-morrow morning, (Sunday,) at 7 o'clock. Mr. Terry, it is generally believed, has left property to the amount of half a million of money! — but in what manner he has disposed of it is not generally known. Mr. Terry made his will about six months after he was first taken ill; since that time a codicil has been added. The will is to be opened on Monday next. Mr. Terry was sixty two years of age.
