The death took place in Greenslopes Military Hospital on February 12, of Mr. James Sloan, after a prolonged illness. Mr. Sloan, who was a veteran of World War I, was in the landing at Gallipoli. He was employed at the Cairns Brewery until his recent illness. He was born in Charters Towers 58 years ago. He is survived by his widow, five sons and three daughters. The funeral left the funeral chapel, 17 Peel-street, South Brisbane, at 9.30 o'clock on Tuesday morning for the Mt. Thompson crematorium.
