William Pawley (1800–1863)

It is our painful duty to announce the decease of the above named gentleman, which took place at his late residence in Bourke-street, Surry Hills, on Saturday, the 4th instant. He was a native of the colony, and in the 64th year of his age, from his earliest days he was one who had to combat with the difficulties and trials of life, but, under every circumstance, evinced great fortitude of mind. His illness, which has been painful and protracted, was borne with the utmost patience and resignation; and he died triumphing in the mercy of his Redeemer. He leaves a large family and a numerous circle of friends to deplore their loss.
