Robin Bilbrough Morwood (1933–1962)

The death of Robin Bilbrough Morwood at Lae on 29th November, 1962, at the age of 29, came as a shock to his many friends and colleagues He had been in ill health for some months but his death was sudden and unexpected, and brought to a close a promising career in forestry.

He received his early education at the Toowoomba Grammar School and later graduated from the University of Queensland and from the Australian Forestry Schoo1. Following graduation he spent nearly six years in the Territory and was largely concerned in the Wau-Bulolo Valley with Araucaria plantations, whose excellence reflects his professional and administrative skill. He has relieved as the Principal Forest Officer, New Guinea Mainland region, for the past 14 months and was recently promoted to Regional Forest Officer, New Guinea Islands region.

He will be greatly missed and our sympathy goes both to his widow and his young son.
