John Lewis (1857–1922)

The death is announced from Adelaide of Mr. John Lewis, a well-known pastoralist, at the age of 65 years. At various times Mr. Lewis was owner of Mundi Mundi Station, in the north-east, and part-owner of Nilpena, in the north. Subsequently he purchased Wirrealpa, which adjoins Wilpena. Mr. Lewis recently purchased Nelyambo Station, on the Darling, for his sons (Messrs. J. P. and L. J. Lewis), while his son (Mr. H. A. Lewis) now owns Wilpena, in the north.

The late Mr. Lewis, who was born in South Australia, leaves a widow, three sons and four daughters. He has resided for some years at Prospect, near Adelaide, and for the past thirty-three years was connected with the Adelaide Racing Club.
