The late Mr. George Lewis, who died suddenly at his home on 30th November1, was the eldest son of the late William Lewis, of Stoneleigh, Beaufort, Victoria. For a number of years he was manager of Mawallok Estate for Mr. Philip Russell. After giving up the management of this property he purchased a property near Maroona, which he named "Yaccamunda," and there carried on pastoral and agricultural pursuits. Mr. Lewis was for a number of years councillor in the shire of Ripon, and took an active interest in the affairs of the district. He was well known, and very popular in the Western District, and was also known in the other States as a good judge of Merino sheep, having acted as judge at the Adelaide, Deniliquin, and other shows.
