The death occurred last month of Mr. William Hay, of Gunningbar Station, near Warren, N.S.W. The deceased was a very well known pastoralist in the western parts of New South Wales, and his properties, Gunningbar and Merryanbone, were noted for the high-class wool produced on them, the flocks being very old established. Mr. Hay was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, in 1853. He was the youngest son of the late James Hay, and a nephew of the late Sir John Hay. He was educated at Aberdeen, and came to Australia in 1873, and gained his colonial experience on Tarriaro Station, near Narrabri, N.S.W. Five or six years later he started on his own account and purchased Gunningbar and Merryanbone, where he lived until his death. Mr. Hay leaves a widow and two sons and two daughters.
