Joseph Henry Brooker (1845–1929)

The death occurred in the Wagga District Hospital of Mr. Joseph Henry Brooker, a well known and respected resident of Lake Albert, at the age of 88 years. He was born at Campbelltown, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Brooker, of Lake Albert. He was a bachelor, and was with the Brunskill family at "Thackwood," Lake Albert, who took a kindly interest in his welfare, for the last 48 years. He is survived by one brother, a twin, Mr. Edward Brooker. Three brothers pre-deceased him, William, of Albury, John, of Wagga, and James, of Lake Albert, also the following sisters, Mesdames Byrnes, E. Rudd, R. Hannam, Samuel Larkins, and Leonard. Mesdames J. T. Baker, senr., Darlow street, Wagga, and A. Rodgers, Adelong, Misses Alice and Ada Brooker, Gregadoo, and Mesdames S. Stephen, E. Phillips and Harry Holder are nieces and Messrs. Alfred and John Brooker, of Lake Albert, John and Reuben Hannam, of Lake Albert, and Arthur Albert Brooker and William Brooker, of Wagga, are nephews. The funeral will leave the Wagga District Hospital this afternoon at 3 o'clock for the family enclosure in the Church of England portion of the Wagga cemetery.
