Branagan, John (1859–1937)

After a short illness, Mr. John Branagan died at the Campbell Town Hospital last night at the age of 79 years.

Mr. Branagan was a well-known identity of Campbell Town, where he had lived a retired life for the past seven years. The eldest son of the late Thomas and Helen Branagan, he resided practically all his life in the Avoca district, and was highly respected. He was a life-long employee of the O'Connor family at the Benham and Connorville estates.

He leaves a sister (Mrs. Merricks, of Oyster Cove) and two brothers Messrs. Thomas and William Branagan, of Launceston.

The funeral has been arranged to take place at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Campbell Town, tomorrow.
