Robert Gottlieb Beggs (1861–1939)

The death occurred unexpectedly on Wednesday night of Mr Robert Gottlieb Beggs, sheepbreeder and grazier of Stockyard Hill, Beaufort. Mr Beggs, who was aged 76 years, was born at Eurambeen Station and was a brother of Mr Theo. Beggs of Eurambeen and Mr Hugh N. Beggs of Nareeb. He was president of the Beaufort Bush Nursing Hospital and presided at a meeting of the committee on Monday night. Mr Beggs was also a vice president of the Beaufort Bowling Club and was deeply interested in all matters affecting the welfare of the Beaufort district. He is survived by a widow and four sons and two daughters
